My favorite Hayao Miyazaki films

Hayao Miyazaki is probably my favourite person whom I have never meet after Jane Austen. I love all of his films; therefore, this list can only tell you which of his films do I love more than others. I would happily recommend everything on this list to anyone and am really excited to talk about them in more detail in future posts.

1.Spirited Away

My ultimate childhood fantasy.

2. Howl’s Moving Castle

The most beautiful soundtrack for the most beautiful magical world.

3. Princess Mononoke

Once gave me nightmares, now among my top 5 animated films of all time.

4. Castle in the Sky

My favourite film with a floating city.

5. Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind

My favourite movie princess ever.

6. Porco Rosso

An oddly heart-wawrning and endearing tale of a literal pig pilot.

7. My Neighbor Totoro

Cutest cartoon character since Dumbo.

8. The Wind Rises

The only film that made me cry for 20 minutes straight.

9. Ponyo

The little mermaid, but with a strong sense of environmental protection.

10. The Castle of Cagliostro

Not a gentleman thief like his grandpa, Arsene Lupin, but a masterful one nontheless.

11. Kiki’s Delivery Service

A delightful coming of age story
